Doosan Articulated Dump Trucks Make Hard Work Easy
Powerful Engine. Maximum Performance.
Each Doosan articulated dump truck (ADT) has a proven, reliable and powerful diesel engine with exceptional torque to help maximize efficiency by minimizing fuel consumption.
Maximum Power-to-Weight
Engine sizes, torque and horsepower have been carefully selected to achieve maximum performance relative to several criteria including load capacity, driveline ratio performance and transmission efficiency. Doosan leads this class in power-to-weight ratio.
Optimized Maneuverability
One of the most innovative features in the Doosan ADT design is the location of the turning ring in relation to the articulation point. Unlike other manufacturers who put the turning ring behind the point of articulation, Doosan places it in front of the articulation point to ensure equal weight distribution to the front wheels, optimizing your maneuverability in all operating situations. Because of their unique downward sloping rear frame, Doosan ADTs deliver equal weight distribution on all axles when the truck is full loaded, providing a lower center of gravity along with superior stability and better tire wear.
Excellent Traction
With two state-of-the-art, limited-slip differentials, Doosan ADTs always deliver best-in-class traction. The single driveline uses one longitudinal differential lock providing the optimal power split of 50 percent to the front and 50 percent to the rear drive train. A redesigned rear differential reduces power loss and enhances operator comfort when driving. The front differential is integrated into the transmission, allowing for a smaller turning radius, improving weight distribution and reducing the total length of the truck.
Steady Performance Every Time
A strong frame and body design with lightweight, high-grade, wear-resistant steel reduces the total weight of the truck, which requires less horsepower for operation. In addition, Doosan uses a transmission configuration that features smooth gear shifting and improves the transfer of power from the engine to the driveline.
For more reliable dumping performance, a center of gravity adjustment assists in managing load placement during dumping. If a load starts to pull the hoist cylinders backward, the system adjusts to slow down the dumping speed of the body, allowing operators to react and prevent spillage or unexpected dumping.
Work Harder In Difficult Terrain.
A key benefit of Doosan ADTs is the free-swinging rear tandem gear-driven bogie, which keeps the rear wheels in contact with the ground, and provides a smoother ride in very rough and soft terrain. This leads to increased stability as the trucks move across roadways and jobsites. A sloping rear frame, in combination with the track width, provides a lower center of gravity, which increases lateral stability and eliminates the need for wide, low profile tires. A gradient meter helps you monitor the incline and pitch for improved safety.
The completely new driveline ratio delivers lower RPMs and improved fuel savings, while ensuring maximum traction performance and durability. The articulation joint is positioned behind the turning ring to provide equal weight distribution even during maximum turning. It also ensures maximum contact between the front wheels and the ground for optimum traction.
Doosan ADTs also provide permanent, six-wheel drive that provides excellent traction in all applications. Semi-independent front suspension enables free movement of one side, keeping front wheels in contact with the ground for excellent traction and shock absorption. With the downhill speed modulation, operators can increase or decrease downhill braking by sampling 'dosing' the accelerator pedal. Long-lasting, oil-cooled wet disc brakes on all six wheels help Doosan ADTs stand up to extreme conditions.
Tier 4 Technology
To meet strict emissions standards, Doosan takes a systems-based clean diesel approach: internal engine modifications and after-treatment technologies. Each model incorporates proven technologies without compromising the performance, reliability and durability you’ve come to expect. Doosan Articulated Dump Trucks Are Hassle-Free And Easy To Maintain
Designed For Durability.
The reliability of Doosan articulated dump tracks (ADTs) sets them apart from the rest. Doosan accomplishes this with durable components and proven manufacturing processes. Specifically designed engine and transmission components are thoroughly tested to maximize the quality of the machines.
Efficient Cooling System
An increased radiator capacity improves cooling by 30 percent, allowing the hydraulic transmission retarder to function under higher loads while continuing to operate within normal limits.
Vehicle Control Unit Keeps You Informed.
Doosan ADTs have a Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) that acts as the main control center for the machine. The VCU is linked to the display in the operator cab and provides easy viewing of key machine functions. It communicates with the machine to help maintain and service it, such as greasing key components.
- Increased hydraulic oil cooling capacity
- Improved air venting
- Improved access to engine and transmission
Doosan Telematics
Doosan Telematics provides machine intelligence from a device that comes standard on most Doosan machines. The device communicates wirelessly through cellular or satellite communication, making a wide range of machine information available to owners, dealers, and Doosan. Machine information can be viewed via the CoreTMS website from a computer or smartphone. Available information includes fleet status, machine location, operating hours, fuel usage, engine idle vs work time, error codes, engine/hydraulic oil temperature and various other data points. Monitor your Doosan equipment and manage maintenance to reduce operating costs. A three-year subscription is standard on all models. Learn more about Doosan Telematics.
Service Points Within Your Reach.
Doosan articulated dump trucks are designed to make maintenance easy. Improved access to the engine and transmission makes routine maintenance simple. The hood opens up to 83 degrees for easier component access, while the tilting cab provides excellent access to transmission service points. Automatic central lubrication is standard on all models to assist operators in their regular maintenance tasks.
Doosan Articulated Dump Trucks: Productive And Comfortable
Unparalleled Levels of Comfort.
Whether you face long days or rugged jobsites, you’ll stay comfortable in a Doosan articulated dump truck (ADT) —even when conditions are at their worst.
The cabin design offers unparalleled levels of operator comfort and meets both Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) and Falling Object Protective (FOPS) criteria. Features include air conditioning, an air suspension seat, precise steering, good visibility and low noise levels. A sloping hood provides an excellent view from the cab. Fully automatic climate control and a rubber suspension cab mounting provide improved operating conditions.
Delivering More Critical Information
Your machine keeps you in the know with an easy-to-read, multi-function 7 in. display panel. Easily see critical machine information including speed, engine rpm, transmission gear, machine warnings, coolant temperature and transmission oil temperature. Monitor your fuel and DEF usage with gauges that display both levels and consumption. It also includes a gradient meter for safety and an embedded rearview camera for improved productivity.
More Precision At Your Fingertips.
Inside the cab on select models, you’ll find is a fingertip-controlled body-dumping lever located next to the gear selection lever. Control of the body dumping is done with minimal operator strain. The hoist function incorporates a higher body-up speed and automatic body-down features, providing a soft, controlled lowering of the dump body that improves ease of operation and control.
The “tip-tonic” gearshift feature enables the operator to run the truck in both automatic and manual to ensure the smoothest possible gearshifts and momentum during operation. Add to that the benefit of low cabin vibration provided by rubber suspension mounts and it’s easy to see why operators are sold on Doosan.
