Technology improvements debuted in new DL420

The Doosan wheel loader family introduces its latest addition — the DL420 — with more torque than its predecessor and is 5 to 7 percent more fuel efficient.

With a bucket capacity of 5.2 cubic yards and a powerful electronically controlled diesel engine rated at 280 horsepower, the DL420 is at the high end of the Doosan wheel loader line, replacing the DL400. This wheel loader size is particularly useful for handling granular materials such as sand and gravel, and more demanding tasks in industrial, mining and quarrying applications, where reliable heavy construction equipment is required.

New monitoring system
Available for the first time in Doosan wheel loaders, a new integrated monitoring system or "machine computer unit" (MCU), displays information about the articulated wheel loader's engine and transmission, including service intervals for each filter and the engine oil. The MCU reports service fault codes to the operator without the need for hooking up a personal computer. Codes can then be reported to the dealer's service technician, saving diagnostic time and reducing expense.

Best in class
DL420 owners get a productivity boost thanks to the Z-bar lifting system and highest bucket breakout force in this size class. High digging power matched with improved tractive effort translates into higher stripping force and greater productivity when working in hard materials.

Creature comforts
Operating heavy equipment has never been as comfortable as it is in the seat of a Doosan wheel loader. Top-of-the-line visibility to the work area gives operators a clear view of their progress. Low sound levels are found inside and outside the cabin. Operators stay cool in the hot summer and warm in the cold, windy winters with powerful air conditioning and heating systems.
